Generator Maintenance & Repair on the Grand Strand
A standby generator is a small engine that sits outdoors for months at a time and is then asked to run for days without a break. Maintenance is not optional — it is the difference between a unit that carries your house through a hurricane and an expensive lawn ornament. We service every brand we sell plus Generac, CAT, Doosan, Winpower and Baldor equipment, on gas, propane and diesel.
Our maintenance visits cover oil and filter service, air and fuel filters, spark plugs or injectors, valve adjustment where required, battery load testing, coolant checks on liquid-cooled units, control board fault history, transfer switch operation and a full load test under real conditions. We record run hours so service intervals track actual use rather than the calendar alone.
Batteries and corrosion are the two failures we see most on the coast. A weak battery is the single most common reason a generator fails to start during an outage, and it almost never announces itself during a weekly exercise cycle. Salt-driven corrosion inside the control enclosure is the second. Both are cheap to catch on a scheduled visit and expensive to discover during a storm.
When something does break, we diagnose and repair on site wherever possible, and we keep parts on hand for the brands we sell. Emergency generator failures are covered 24/7/365 — if your unit will not start with weather coming, call us.

Common Questions
How often does a standby generator need maintenance?
Once a year at minimum for a residential air-cooled unit, or every 200 run hours — whichever comes first. Liquid-cooled and commercial units typically need semi-annual service. Coastal units benefit from more frequent enclosure and connection inspections.
My generator will not start. What is the most likely cause?
A weak or dead starting battery, by a wide margin. After that: stale fuel, a tripped controller fault from a previous failed start, a closed fuel valve, or a low oil pressure lockout. We diagnose all of these on site.
Do you service generators you did not install?
Yes. We service all major brands regardless of who installed the unit, including Generac, Kohler / Rehlko, Briggs & Stratton, Champion, CAT, Doosan, Winpower and Baldor.
Is emergency generator service really available 24/7?
Yes. Generator failures do not keep office hours, and neither do we — emergency response is available 24/7/365.
